Debt-Free 1.4 walkthrough
Your First Private Payoff Plan: Two Debts, Avalanche, and No Bank Connection
You can try the complete free path with invented numbers: enter two debts, review an Avalanche estimate, and see what a recurring extra payment changes. Debt-Free does not connect to a bank, verify a lender balance, or move money.
Start with this fictional two-debt example
The names and numbers below are invented. They let you learn the workflow without sharing your lender, account number, or personal financial situation.
Fictional debt
Rewards card
- Starting balance
- $6,500
- APR
- 27.49%
- Required payment
- $195 monthly
Fictional debt
Small personal loan
- Starting balance
- $1,200
- APR
- 8.50%
- Required payment
- $50 monthly
Optional scenario input: add a fictional $200 recurring extra payment. Treat the result only as a demonstration of how an estimate responds to the values entered.
What the free plan does
- Add up to two debts. Enter a label, confirmed balance, APR, required payment, and any optional due-day context manually.
- Review Avalanche priority. The free plan prioritizes higher APR while continuing to represent each required payment.
- Explore recurring and per-debt extras. Change a planning input and inspect the revised estimated date and interest.
- Track a confirmed payment. Recording a payment reduces the balance stored in Debt-Free exactly once and keeps a payment-history record.
- Reconcile separately. Compare the tracked balance with the current lender statement. Interest, fees, posting time, purchases, credits, and lender allocation can differ.

Privacy and accessibility
- No Nash account, bank connection, advertising, or third-party analytics SDK is required for the app.
- Debt names, balances, rates, plans, and reminders remain on the device. Exported files leave only through an Apple sharing or file action you initiate.
- This guide uses semantic headings, lists, descriptive image text, visible keyboard focus, and responsive layouts. The app has been checked with large-text layouts and accessibility trees; that is not a claim of a complete physical VoiceOver traversal.
- For a real plan, avoid placing lender logins, account numbers, or other identifiers in labels or support messages.

Keep the estimate honest
Refresh the plan whenever a balance, APR, required payment, fee, promotional term, planned extra payment, or other circumstance changes. The five-number payoff-plan checkup and browser-local worksheet can help you review the inputs without uploading or storing them.
Boundary: Debt-Free is an educational planning tool. It does not provide financial, legal, tax, credit, or debt-relief advice; move payments; negotiate with creditors; or guarantee a payoff date or savings amount.
